Complaints
We want you to feel able to raise any concerns you have about the counselling service you receive. The same goes for the “Marriage In Practice” course.
If something does not feel right, you are welcome to raise it directly with Armaan Ahmed in the first instance. Where appropriate, we can discuss your concern and try to understand what has happened.
You can contact Armaan at:
Complaints through iCounselling
Counselling offered through So How’s It Going? is currently provided by Armaan through iCounselling as part of his supervised clinical placement.
If you would prefer not to raise your concern directly with Armaan, or you wish to make a formal complaint about the counselling service you have received, you can contact Rabia Khan, Clinical Founder of iCounselling. iCounselling’s complaints procedure expressly allows clients to raise concerns either with their counsellor or directly with iCounselling.
Email: admin@islamiccounselling.co.uk
For a written complaint, iCounselling asks you to provide as much information as possible about:
- what you are unhappy about
- when the incident took place
- which counsellors or staff were present or involved at the time
iCounselling states that written complaints will be acknowledged within 10 working days. They will investigate the complaint and aim to provide a full response within 15 working days. If a full response cannot be provided within that time, they will explain the reason for the delay.
Confidentiality
Complaints and concerns will be handled confidentially. iCounselling also uses feedback and complaints to consider whether changes should be made to improve its counselling service.
Professional standards
Armaan is a Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works in accordance with the professional and ethical requirements applicable to his training and placement.
